Someone is injured
1 Call 112 now
📞 Call 112When you call 112 from a mobile, the phone usually sends your location automatically (AML). Still, tell them yourself too.
2 What to tell 112
Read this to 112:
«I am at [say where you are]. There has been a an accident.»
3 While help is on its way
Not responding and not breathing normally
Push hard and fast in the centre of the chest. 112 will guide you. Ask someone to look for a defibrillator.
Bleeding heavily
Press hard on the wound with a cloth or your hand, and do not let go.
Vomiting or unconscious
Turn them on their side as one block: head, neck and body together.
- Keep yourself safe first. If there is traffic, warn others and make yourself visible.
- Do not move them unless they are in danger. Hold their head with both hands so the neck does not move.
- Do not take the helmet off. Only if they are not breathing and you cannot help with it on; better with two people.
- Keep them warm: something between them and the ground, and shelter from wind and rain.
- Do not give them food or drink.
- If they hit their head, even if they say they are fine, they must not carry on: a doctor must see them.
- Stay with them until help arrives.
Advice based on the European first aid guidelines (ERC 2025). It does not replace the instructions of 112.
